"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences."Gordon B. Hinckley, 2006

Thankful Thursday

  • Brittney Dawn ~ I am thankful this most precious daughter that the Lord blessed me with. I was a baby when I had this darling girl and she and I grew up together. Not the most ideal way to start a family, but I think we made it work. How do I know this? Because when I see the lady that she has become I know that I did something right. I am AMAZED by her faith, courage, strength, and dedication that she has for all that she holds dear. Brittney has had some darn hard trials and she has faced each standing tall and full of grace in a way that has made her mama burst with pride. I wish I could take all of her pain and worries away...is there a greater pain than seeing your babies hurt? But, they are making her into the person she is and I couldn't imagine her any other way. I am so thankful today for her strength.
  •  I am so thankful for the friends and family that mourn with you when you mourn. I am thankful for the prayers, meals, notes, cookies, strawberries, gift cards, and visits that Brittney has received. Those huge acts of kindness and love are much needed and much appreciated.
  • I am so glad that Tom came home last night. Two trips in a row are too much time apart. Life is just not as much fun when he is not home. He is truly missed when he is away.
